Established over fifty years ago, Thetford Netball Club continues to enjoy an increase in its membership which it has now grown to over 200 across its junior and senior teams. Whilst the adult section of the club was established in the 1970’ s, it is really only in the last decade that the level of youth player participation has really ramped up.
Progression through the club’s pathway is a key focus for the club where players can now start at the age of eight with the ambition that they can become part of the adult team setup once they are ready to. With seven junior teams and five senior sides, the club is proud in how it can attract players locally but also from wider afield with some players travelling across counties from Suffolk and Cambridgeshire to play their netball for the Norfolk based club.
As the club grows its membership, the expectation on good quality and easily available playing kit and teamwear was something the club’s Chair; Kate Clements was keen to address. Their previous teamwear supplier had been struggling to keep up with demand and this was something Kate knew needed improving.
A combination of online research and a referral from another customer that STC supplies led Kate to start discussions on becoming their Kit Partner – which has now been in place since 2022.
Kate said “The thing that stands out most for me with STC is how fast they move for us. They are so customer reactive which absolutely makes the partnership work so well.”
Like many grass roots sports clubs of this size, the success of Thetford Netball Club relies heavily on its off-court volunteers. ith busy lives outside of the club, the ability for STC to appreciate the importance of volunteer-run clubs is certainly not lost on Kate.
“I help run our own busy transport company and like many of our volunteers we do not always have enough time to dedicate to the management of the club. STC totally get our role as volunteers and ensure that they take away as many of the challenges and pressures from us. Matt at STC supports us with everything and the introduction of the online club store has made life so much easier.”
STC offer all its partners access to their own dedicated online store where both playing kit and teamwear is available to purchase. Whilst Thetford Netball hold a small amount of stock, this online channel means new players can receive their kit quickly and for existing players any replacements are easy to obtain.
“I would 100% recommend STC, not only is the kit of a very good quality but they just make things as easy as they can for us and handle all our questions and ideas quickly and effectively.”
