STC has just completed its first full season with a kit and teamwear supply to Stowmarket Cricket Club. The move has helped transform how the club is able to generate membership and grow revenue whilst also increasing the overall experience for its players, coaches, and parents. They have a teamwear partner who deliver in the most important areas including price, quality, service, and lead times.
Stowmarket Cricket Club is proud to boast three weekend adult teams, a ladies softball side, a midweek XI, and a thriving youth section ranging from under U7s through to U15s. With a growing membership, and a hectic fixture calendar the need for reliable, high-quality playing kit and teamwear is essential to maintaining the club’s professional and community-focused image.
A primary reason for moving to STC in 2024 was the concern of longer delivery and lead times. Their previous supplier focused on two primary sports and Stow CC often found their need to order clashed with many other teams who ordered at the same time of the season and could lead to players sourcing a mix of kit which went against the consistent and professional identity that the club wanted. STC was able to take this problem and work to shorter lead times – meaning that players were sometimes able to have their new kit within 7-10 days.
The introduction to STC came via a new committee member who recommended exploring a local option. The benefits were immediate. With STC based just down the road, players could easily visit to try on items, collect orders, and get support directly. The club also worked with STC to launch their online store, making it even easier to purchase kit and teamwear anytime.
STC supported the club throughout the transition. They even helped to create a guide on informing players how to get their orders as part of their membership fee and to ensure no one paid unnecessary delivery charges. “It’s the little things,” says John Pollard, the club’s Treasurer and Head Coach, “but they make a huge difference.”
The response from players, parents, and coaches has been overwhelmingly positive. The new playing kit and off field teamwear has given the club a fresh, unified identity and the quality has exceeded expectations.
“Players wear the kit weekly and coaches sometimes wear their teamwear several times a week, and I’ve been so impressed with the quality.” “One year on and the sponsor logos still look brand new,” says John.
Lead times have also impressed. “Delivery is unbelievably quick,” John says, “Even when the entire club was moving over to the new kit, STC managed the large volume of orders without any issues.”
Beyond the day-to-day supply, STC has also shown flexibility and initiative. When the club wanted to purchase a gift as a thank you for a volunteer; an item not listed in their store, STC just made it happen without fuss.
